A lot of you will only be hearing our stuff for the first time, and you may be wondering why it sounds like it was recorded in someone's living room. Well that's because it was. Some of these songs have been around for years and yet we still have never had the money or the good luck to actually be able to record them on proper equipment. All we had were the songs in their gloriously rough form, and even though the sound quality may be far from professional, the most important thing is that we let the music do the talking. In fact in a world where even punk rock is getting more and more polished every day, it's refreshing to bring out records that are purely D.I.Y. Written by us, played by us, recorded by us, produced by us, released by us and 100% ours. Furthermore these are songs that we are very proud of, every single one has a story. Stories of social alienation, drunken chaos, political betrayal, corruption, disillusion, and what it's like to live in a town where nothing seems to go your way. Jagged, raw, rough-as-**** and shockingly under-produced. But above all, ****ing brilliant.

Here’s a little recap of our history so far…….. Mr McEntegart used to be in a Melksham band called Nishe, while Mr Scott was making electro music, then the two of them wrote some songs in 2003 and made a poorly recorded demo tape under the name The Political Threat….. then life threw many obstacles at us and over the space of four years we didn’t really function as a band at all…… Then in 2007 we decided we had too many good songs just to let them fade away into complete obscurity, so we formed Armies Of Anger and recorded many of the songs we already had from over the years……. That recording became the ‘Live By Your Own Law’ demo which we put out in April 2007….........................................................................................…

After releasing 'Live By Your Own Law', the feedback we received from music fans, bands and labels was very encouraging. Then Mr X (aka Stan) joined us on guitar, we wrote some awesome songs and discovered our own individual sound. And despite having troubles finding a bassist and a drummer, not being able to play any gigs, as well as having **** all money, we couldn't stop coming up with great music so we decided to record a new EP.......... 'MAXIMUM RAGE ON THE MINIMUM WAGE' is a collection of songs that shows that even a few months after the demo album, our ideas and our sound had developed beyond what we thought possible. Six raging tracks of no-nonsense D.I.Y punk rock, and 3 interludes to break things up, this is the musical statement that got us noticed as one of the finest emerging punk bands, and gained us some very positive reviews. ....................................................................................................

After taking things to this new level, and after a couple of months break we set about recording a full length debut. And this time round the whole band was on fire creatively and musically.
If the first two EPS were Armies Of Anger in black and white then the debut album is AOA in glorious technicolour,this time with a more diverse sound, while still keeping focused on what we do best. Recorded yet again DIY style at AOA HQ (Mr Scott's house) and made on a budget of ****-all, this is a collection of songs that we can all be pleased to call ours, in fact if we all died tomorrow then at least we've left something behind that we can be proud of. With this album we haven't been afraid to try anything new, but at the same time we've still been busy doing the no-nonsense punk rock that we do best! All of us have had a hand in the songwriting process this time, and as with the first two EPs, this is completely self written, self-recorded, self produced and even self released. A lot of the songs were recorded completely live with very few overdubs, so the raw energy of our previous songs is still there and sounding dirtier than ever. With this record, we haven't been afraid to be ourselves, we've done exactly what we wanted to do and not compromised one bit. You'll hear songs about the ****tiness of manufactured pop, tales of social alienation, frustration and abuses of power. You'll hear calls for Bush to be put on trial for war crimes, you'll hear "West Country dub", "anarcho-funk" and "oi! disco". And you'll hear our thoughts on politics, religion, war, culture and anything else we had on our minds that we needed to share.
