Essay For The Ordinary - Cool Cats

‘Cool cats’ from Essay For The Ordinary is a good all rounder delivering good music alongside impressive vocals. The band appears to make light work of the frantic tempo and complex arrangements chosen and I take my hat off to their use of instruments.

The guitar riffs and brass instrument effect were all neat additions and add to making the song so well thought out. It struck me in points that the two singer’s voices sounded as young as they did talented and it lends something unique to the song.

Being brutal I’m not a big fan of the caught between rapping and singing vocal style, but, it does suit the song and is impressively executed. The main complaint would be the song and indeed Essay For The Ordinary seems to pander to their scene instead of letting musical ability speak for itself. Then again, you have to ask why not, if it produces tracks like this.
