I Am Ghost - Those We Leave Behind

I Am Ghost have delivered one hell of a punch with the new album 'Those We Leave Behind'. Having never heard I Am Ghost before, I was pleasantly surprised with the raw power and emotion of 14 tracks of hard hitting, rockable action which leaves you thirsty for more... much more.

After a very creepy yet atmospheric introductory track 'We Dance With Monsters', this album comes in with a bang, and I could not think of a better song to start Those We Leave Behind. 'Don't Wake Up' is a powerful and striking example of what I Am Ghost have achieved on an album which is a credit the the rock and metal genres. Other similar tracks such as 'Those We Leave Behind' and 'Saddest Story Never Told' really knock you for six, and make you notice the blood, sweat, and tears that I Am Ghost have input to make this album, and it's content what it is. After listing to these tracks you really will be singing these anthems for days on end.

Those We Leave Behind isn't just about the hard, upbeat songs. It also contains an amazing mix of slower breaks and beats, as well as well thought out lyrics, and meaningful songs. Tracks such as 'They Always Come Back' give this album that extra something which takes it out of the 'mediocre range', and into the 'cannot be described in words range'.

All in all this album cannot be faulted, it has a great balance of rockable tracks as well as melodic, slower, heartfelt songs. If you like post hardcore you will absolutely adore I Am Ghost. If you have never listened to them before I recommend you get your hands on Those We Leave Behind. An album that has a little bit of everything to satisfy your needs, and a great uplifting power trip which will show you what post hardcore is, and should be all about.
