Neverify - Species

Berkshire based rock-metal four piece, Neverify put together an encouraging four tracks for their debut EP Species; due for release early July 2010. Starting the EP with an eerie sounding introduction to first track ‘Union’, and a simplistic yet well worked bass line provoking the vocals, the band are holding out before the whole song breaks loose; portraying the eclectic talents of the members of this band. Vocalist Dan Bignell is fantastic throughout the EP, his ranges of pitch and constant switch between a softer singing voice and harsh vocals is executed flawlessly.

Each song has evidently been written and rehearsed to perfection and not a single note is out of place, with guitarist Tim Spurrs shining throughout the record; his relentless guitar riffs holding together each song brilliantly. The songs themselves flit between aggressive metal with riffs that will grip you harder than a heavy duty vise, and lyrics that pack more punch than Mike Tyson to the gentle sounds of a light drum beat and melodious vocals.

Their fusion of sound has been likened to that of Rage Against The Machine, an accurate comparison that Neverify should take in their stride. This is a fantastic debut EP from a very auspicious Berkshire four piece.
