The Stayaways - The Man A Factory

Review:
The cover of their EP gives nothing away about the style produced on this CD, although the lyrics of the two tracks on the back suggest they show uniqueness within their genre. They claim to be "set to a backdrop of trouble in the city" which is suggested by the image on the front of the EP, but if this conjures images of three men screaming about society, you’ve misconstrued the situation, and I strongly suggest you listen to this CD before passing any judgements.
The Stayaways have done a beautiful job putting their songs together, an introductory riff to Manna Factory, while being relatively simple, is utterly contagious. The vocals naturally fall into place, and are evidently done with an enviable amount of ease. The charming music picks up when the chorus comes in, and the whole song is lifted, continuing with a brilliantly up-beat verse and ending on a breakdown which I challenge any sane person not to dance to.
The three individuals create a sound that many five-piece bands struggle to achieve and quite frankly, it's impressive. The second (and unfortunately final) song - Carve Your Name – shows the same modest passion for their music. Their one guitarist, Liam applies a variation of chords to the distinct drums, with a few subtle bass riffs heard bringing out the rhythm in this striking piece of music.
Unfortunately in a world where the mainstream consists of talentless musicians, whining their way through bland songs. This band must stand up and get heard for the true talent they portray.
