Hailing from Burnsville, Minnesota, Scott Froseth's 'If You Knew Me' is a beautiful, frank and endearing record. The title track showcases his delicate, grainy vocal coupled with a nice melody that builds into a soaring rocker. What's apparent from the outset is that Froseth is the genuine article, a seasoned songwriter steeped in the most credible side of Country and Americana.

The personable and honest lyrics only add to the appeal on gentle numbers such as 'Old and Gray' and 'All I Wanted'. The traditional 'Daddy's Girl' is a lovely example of classic storytelling songs with some beautiful backing vocals and excellent lead guitar. 'If You Knew Me' is a handsome collection of songs.

Froseth's songs are country simplicity. This is honest country written from a perspective of common sense values. Froseth, born in North Dakota, chooses the less is more strategy with If You Knew Me. Country traditionalists will love his sweet vocals riding atop a gentle acoustic sound. The seven songs on the release are small polished gems. Each one has been buffed to perfection.
